A Development System.
Not A Stack Of Lessons.

Every XLB player gets evaluated, placed where they actually are, and moved forward on a plan built for them. That's how real development works.

The Difference

Most kids don't have a plan.
They have a schedule.

A lesson here. A camp there. A different coach every few months, none of them talking to each other. Your player works hard and still plateaus, because nobody's actually building toward anything. Effort without a system is just busy.

At XLB, development isn't a stack of lessons. It's a pathway. Every player is evaluated, placed where they actually are, and moved forward on a plan built for them. You always know what your player is working on, why, and what comes next.

The XLB Development Pathway

Four stages. One clear direction: forward.

Every player starts somewhere on the pathway. Where they start depends on the assessment, not their age or their team. As your player grows, the program grows with them. More structure, more performance work, more individual attention, added at the right time, not all at once.

Stage 01

Foundation

Where development starts. Skill-focused work that builds a real base: swing, throw, field, and move the right way before anything gets layered on top. Every strong player is built from here.

Stage 02

Development

The next step. Everything in Foundation, plus performance training added to the program. Your player starts building the athleticism behind the skills, not just the mechanics.

Stage 03

Performance

Development intensifies. Performance and strength work become more individualized, built around your player's specific needs, position, and goals. This is where skill and athleticism start to compound.

Stage 04

Elite

The top of the pathway. The individualized strength program continues, with more sessions added for players ready to train at the highest level and chase the next opportunity.

Not sure where your player fits? That's exactly what the assessment is for. We'll evaluate, place them, and show you the plan.

Hitting Development

A swing that holds up when it counts.

Good hitting isn't a set of cues your player forgets by the next game. We build a repeatable swing from the ground up: how they move, how they sequence, how they adjust to real pitching. Every player is coached to their own body and their own bat path, not forced into one template.

Your player learns why the swing works, not just what to do. That's what makes it stick when the pressure's on and nobody's there to remind them.

Pitching Development

Throw harder. Throw smarter. Stay healthy.

Velocity matters, but it means nothing if your player can't command it or can't stay on the mound. We develop arms the right way: mechanics that add velocity, command that gets outs, and arm care built into the work from day one.

Every pitcher is different. We build the plan around your player's arm, their delivery, and where they are in their development, so progress is real and it lasts.

Defense & Fielding

Games are won
with the glove.

Hitting gets the highlight. Defense gets the innings. We build footwork, glove work, and throwing accuracy into the plan the same way we build a swing, position by position, rep by rep, until the routine play is automatic and the hard play is possible.

Strength & Performance

The work behind the skills.

Skills get the attention. Strength is what lets them show up. Our in-house Strength & Performance program builds the athlete underneath the player: rotational power, speed, and the durability to compete all season without breaking down.

This isn't a gym membership or a generic workout. It's baseball-specific training, run by our XLB Strength Coach in our own facility, built to make your player faster, stronger, and harder to wear out. As your player advances on the pathway, this work becomes more individualized, targeted to their position, their goals, and what their body actually needs.

It's the part of development most programs skip. It's also the part that separates players who plateau from players who keep climbing.

Measurable Progress

Progress you can measure.

Once your player is on a development plan, we track their progress with tools like Rapsodo and Blast Motion. You don't just hear that your player is improving. You see it, backed by real data, so you know the plan is working.

Built For Your Player

Every player's plan is built for them.

There's no one-size-fits-all program here, so there's no one-size-fits-all plan. After your player's assessment, we'll show you exactly where they fit on the pathway and build the program around it. We'll walk you through everything from there.

Common Questions

Questions parents ask.

Every player trains on a plan matched to their stage on the pathway. As your player develops and needs more, the program grows with them. We'll walk you through exactly how it works after your assessment.
Yes. There's no season or enrollment window. Your player starts with an assessment, and we build from there.
That's what Foundation is for. We meet your player where they are and build the base first. No experience needed.
The assessment places them where they actually are, not where a beginner starts. Advanced players move into the work that keeps pushing them.
We build development around real life. Your player's plan is designed to fit their schedule, not fight it.
Beyond what you'll see on the field, players on a plan get progress tracked with tools like Rapsodo and Blast Motion, so you see real data, not just effort.
